Destiny Impact CBO ("Destiny", "we") works with Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities in Bungoma, Kenya. This policy explains what personal information this website collects, why, and the choices you have. We follow the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.

What we collect

• When you contact us or volunteer: your name, phone or WhatsApp number, email address if you give it, and your message.
• When you donate: your name, email address and the amount. Card and M-Pesa payments are handled by our payment provider, Paystack. We never see or store your card details.
• When you browse: basic technical information that every website receives, such as your device type and the pages you open, kept in our hosting provider's logs for security.

Please do not send details of abuse through our forms. If you or someone you know is in danger, call 1195 (free, 24 hours), 999 or 112, or 116 for children.

Why we use it

• To reply to you, arrange volunteering and send receipts for donations.
• To report to our donors and the authorities how funds were used. Donor names are only published with permission.
• To keep this website safe and working.

We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Photos and stories

We only show people who have agreed to appear. Survivors of Gender-Based Violence are never named or shown. Anyone pictured can ask us to remove a photo or story at any time.

Who we share it with

Only the services that run this website and process donations (our web host and Paystack), and authorities where the law requires it. These services keep your information on our behalf and may store it outside Kenya under safeguards the Act requires.

How long we keep it

Messages and volunteer details: [period, e.g. 2 years after last contact]. Donation records: as long as Kenyan tax and audit rules require [client to confirm]. After that we delete them.

Cookies

This site uses only the cookies it needs to work, for example to remember a donation in progress. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. Email [email protected] and we will reply within 7 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (odpc.go.ke).
